Extended Health Benefits

The vast majority of extended health benefit plans cover services provided by a Registered Massage Therapy (RMT).

Levels of benefit coverage varies from plan to plan. This means you may receive complete or partial reimbursement of your treatment costs. In order to claim these subsidies, our patients will receive electronic or paper receipts for all visits. For full details of your coverage we recommend you check with your benefit provider or employer.

Let us help make the process easier for you! We can directly bill to most Extended Health Benefit providers. For more information on our value-added direct billing service, click HERE.

ICBC / Motor Vehicle Accident

Have you been in a motor vehicle accident? Do you have a claim for bodily injury with the Insurance Corporation of BC (ICBC)? Did you know you are entitled to benefit coverage regardless of fault?

We accept ICBC claims! Our clinic is set up to bill ICBC for their coverage!

Please contact us (preferably by phone) to begin the process of receiving treatment. We require your ICBC claim number, and contact details of your ICBC Customer Claims Specialist in order to confirm coverage before your initial visit.

MSP / Medical Services Plan

Patients who qualify for coverage under the British Columbia Medical Services Plan (MSP) can receive a $23/appointment subsidy for their session. This coverage allows for a maximum of 10 visits per calendar year, combined with other paramedical services (i.e. Physiotherapy; Chiropractic; Acupuncture; Naturopathy; Podiatry).

Our clinic is equipped to confirm your coverage and and directly bill to MSP with your Personal Health Number.

Patients with coverage will be required to pay the co-pay (a.k.a. user fee) at the time of service. This is the difference in cost from our Massage Therapy rates and the $23 subsidy.

RCMP / Veterans / Canadian Forces

We directly bill to Medavie Blue Cross for members of the RCMP and patients with coverage through Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC). A completed claim form will be required for your initial visit. A referral from a medical doctor may also be necessary to support coverage or extensions of coverage under these plans.

WorkSafeBC

Registered Massage Therapy treatments covered under WorkSafeBC claims are at no cost to the injured worker. However, WorkSafeBC will cover only one modality of treatment at a time (i.e. Only Physiotherapy / Only Chiropractic / Only Massage Therapy). Treatments for conditions or body areas unrelated to the WSBC injury will be billed directly to the patient. Since WorkSafeBC is the primary insurer during an active claim, direct billing to extended health benefits is not permitted unless WorkSafeBC expressively denies current and future coverage of Registered Massage Therapy under the claim.

Unfortunately we are unable to bill WorkSafeBC at this time. Meanwhile, our staff will refer you to another clinic where you may receive treatment under an active WorkSafeBC claim.

Appointment Scheduling Policy

Registered Massage Therapy and Non-Registered Massage sessions are scheduled by appointment only. These appointments can be reserved in person, by email, by phone or online, and requires a valid credit card to be saved on our secure online booking system.

Late Arrival Policy

When patients arrive late for their scheduled appointment, our practitioners will provide treatment for the remaining session time only, with no fee reduction. We do our best to always be ready for you when you arrive, and ask that you do your best to show up for your appointment on time. Due to tightly booked schedules, extending appointments beyond their originally specified time is very limited.

Cancellation & Missed Appointment Policy

This policy is simple. We require a minimum of 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 24 hours notice to cancel/alter their appointment, or miss the appointment completely, may be charged up to the full cost of the session. All patients are required to have a valid credit card on file on our secure online booking system. Any outstanding fees will be applied to your account and charged to the credit card on file.

Your appointment time is reserved just for you. Please understand that our professionals only get paid when they deliver treatment. Consequently, missed appointments are costly and prevent us from providing treatment to other patients.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, for any reason, please notify us by phone/voicemail or e-mail at your earliest convenience. If we do not hear from you, this policy will be applied.

Payment for all treatments, whether private or insured, is ultimately the responsibility of the patient. One receipt will be issued for each payment. A fee of $25 may be charged for a Statement of Account that comprises of two or more previously issued (i.e. duplicated) receipts.

A receipt will be issued when the cancellation fee is paid, however this fee is not reimbursable through extended health benefits or other third party insurers.
